Days 22-29 of training : J2EE over! PL/SQL started!

Index: Other posts on training in this series

Finally, done with J2EE! We had our test today and got the result by evening too. It wasn’t very high scoring, but most people did fine alongwith a few retests being handed out.

Java results were also out a couple of days back. 10/25 in our batch of trainees got retests. But there were others who scored well too.

Quite a few interpreted the questions incorrectly or had mistakes in a single line of code which if corrected would have resulted in a (pass)/(much better score).

Yours truly scored 50/50 in Java – Yoo Hoo and a bottle of rum! There were three others who got 50 and two who got 49.

Anyway, the topics we covered in J2EE include Servlets, JSP, JavaBeans, Life cycles of Enterprise Java Beans, Stateless and Stateful Session Beans, Entity Beans, Message Driven Beans, Container Managed Persistence and Bean Managed Persistence and a few related tidbits.

We used Sun J2EE SDK. Features and use of BEA WebLogic were also demonstrated in one session.

If you intend to do some prep before joining, reading the J2EE tutorial by Sun would be a good idea.

We have now started PL/SQL training. Let’s see how interesting that turns out to be.
